How to Delete OneDrive Folder from File Explorer

OneDrive is a convenient cloud storage service provided by Microsoft, allowing users to store, sync, and share files across multiple devices. However, there may be instances when you need to delete a OneDrive folder from your File Explorer. This article will guide you through the process of deleting a OneDrive folder from File Explorer on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Before you begin, make sure you have the latest version of OneDrive installed on your computer. To check for updates, go to the Microsoft Store and click on the “Updates” tab. If there are any available updates, install them to ensure that your OneDrive is up to date.

Step 1: Open File Explorer

Press the Windows key + E to open File Explorer. This will display all the files and folders on your computer, including those stored in OneDrive.

Step 2: Navigate to the OneDrive folder

In the left pane of File Explorer, you will see a list of folders, including OneDrive. Click on OneDrive to expand it and view the contents of your OneDrive account.

Step 3: Select the folder you want to delete

Locate the folder you want to delete within the OneDrive folder. Click on the folder to select it. If you want to delete multiple folders, hold down the Ctrl key and click on each folder to select them.

Step 4: Delete the folder

Once you have selected the folder(s) you want to delete, right-click on the selected folder(s) and choose “Delete” from the context menu. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click “Yes” to delete the folder(s) from your OneDrive account.

Step 5: Confirm deletion

After confirming the deletion, the folder(s) will be moved to the Recycle Bin. You can empty the Recycle Bin to permanently delete the folder(s) from your computer.

Alternatively, you can delete the folder(s) directly from the Recycle Bin by right-clicking on the folder(s) and choosing “Delete” from the context menu. This will also permanently delete the folder(s) from your computer.

By following these steps, you can easily delete a OneDrive folder from File Explorer on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Remember to double-check your selections before deleting any folders, as the deletion process is irreversible.
